Soul Sistas

I currently have three albums in heavy rotation on my iPod. All three of them just so happened to be three of the most soulful & inspirational female artists in the music industry today. They're also fairly new to the music scene. Jazmine Sullivan & Adele both just recently dropped their sophomore albums, & Marsha Ambrosius, although she's a vet in the game just released her first solo album...
Jazmine Sullivan's entire album is exactly what the title states... It's a cry to get the love back that she put out.  Love Me Back displays both sides of the spectrum with tracks about what true love is, such as the amazing ballad "Excuse Me" & also about not being appreciated in a relationship with tracks like "Good Enough." Every woman can relate to something on this album.

Late Nights & Early Mornings, in my opinion is nothing less than classic! Throughout this album Marsha Ambrosius tells stories of passionate love making, harsh break ups, & the tragedy of loosing loved ones. Her voice possesses pain that forces you to feel whatever it is that she relays in her music & that is something unique & rare. Hands down my favorite songs are "Your Hands", "Late Nights & Early Mornings", & "The Break Up Song."
& last but not least Adele is no longer 19... She's 21 & the maturity from then until now is very evident. As much as I was in love with 19, I've fallen even harder for 21, Which is incredible because it's almost impossible for most artist to top their debut album. From "Rolling In The Deep" to "Someone Like You" (beginning to end) I am reminded of my most recent relationship that ended bitterly. I am reminded of emotions that I wish to never feel again, but I can't help but listen to it over & over because of her raspy voice that will literally hypnotize you & lyrics that you can't help but identify with. It's official... Adele has joined the list of my favorite artist, I can't get enough of this chick.

My Ideal Man...

Loyalty. Honesty. Faithfulness. Intelligence. Trust. Love. Passion. Wit... Is that too much to ask for?

Khloe Covers YRB Magazine

Some would refer to Khloe as the odd ball of the Kardashian family, but she is my favorite. She has to be the most entertaining on the show. Even though she may not be the most attractive of the three, her personality is one that you can't possibly ignore. Khloe is covering the latest YRB magazine & I absolutely love this look on her. She looks amazing & her wardrobe is sickening! Check out these scans from the magazine...

2011

I'm back & ready to face the year 2011 & everything it has to offer. 2010 was a year of many trials & tribulations, but I've put all that behind me & I'm so glad to be moving forward. I'm so in love with this optimistic, driven & more rebellious version of myself . I have such high expectations for this year & I can't wait to see what 2011 has in store... Happy New Year!

Rihanna Gets L O U D!

Yesterday Rihanna released her highly anticipated 5th album titled LOUD & this project clearly displays her growth from one year to the next. In 2009 Rihanna dared to wear her heart on her sleeve with her album Rated R, where she used her music as an outlet for her relationship that got ugly & physical with Chris Brown. Rated R had a dark, mysterious vibe to it & just one year later Rihanna is in a completely different place in her life. Rihanna seems to be colorful, happy & more radiant than ever. She's come out of the dark back into the light & has a new LOUD personality to match her LOUD red hair. Even though Rated R is still my favorite Rihanna album, I am a fan of LOUD. "Fading", "California King Bed", & "Complicated" are the ballads that I'm in love with. Those are the songs that relate to some of my past relationships. "What's My Name?" & "Skin" are the naughty, sexual songs that I live for! "Love The Way You Lie (Part II)" will give you goose bumps just like the original did the first time you heard it. If you haven't already, go cop your copy of Rihanna's new album LOUD!

Changes

Change is inevitable & I love the changes I see within myself because maturity is definitely taking place. My growth, my progress... I'm evolving into someone that I am absolutely in love with. But what seems to be unsettling for me are the changes that I see in others. People changing towards me, growing apart from me, not being as close as they once were with me. Individuals that I considered friends or lovers no longer wanting any relation to me. Watching people walk out of my life is the hardest and most hurtful part of change. Especially when it's without any explanation or even a good bye. But what I've realized is that when I move forward into a different phase of my life some things & people are not meant to be apart of my new chapter. Sometimes they are no longer for me or what I'm about. I've learned to take the experiences with those people as lessons & to treat them as a part of my growth process. Leaving loved ones behind or watching them walk away from me will never be an easy task. But knowing that whoever remains a part of my life are those who belong there gives me strength to let go with a smile :-) Thank YOU for helping me become who I am.

Bangin' Bod

W magazine featured Kim K. in its Art Issue... I had to share these pics with you guys. They are absolutely amazing! Go Kimmy!

Religiously Tuned In

I am not a big television person, I would much rather listen to music, but I do have a select few shows that I never miss an episode of." Keeping Up With The Kardashians" & "Kourtney & Khole Take Miami" are two of my favs & I can watch the re-runs a million times! When the first season premiered I didn't know anything about this family. All I knew is that Kim was Ray J's ex girl friend who he had done a sex tape with. So I tuned in just to see what it was all about & I fell in love with the entire family. Each & every one of them are hilarious and I find their shows almost impossible not to watch. Whether it's for Kourtney and her on going drama with Scott, Khole & her potty mouth, Kim & her many business ventures, or Kris and her dramatic personality... You just have to be entertained by them. I love my KK Dolls & I can't wait to see their new reality show "Kourtney & Kim Take New York" where they open up a new Dash store in NYC. But for now I continue to watch the re-runs on E! every time they are on.

After loosing one of the best African American programs on television "Girl Friends", the sitcom "The Game" quickly swooped in & stole my heart. It is my absolute favorite show to watch. I love each & every character and how they seem to over play their roles. Kelly, the  football wife who keeps quiet and follows the lead of her husband. Melanie, the girl friend of the rookie who she gave up everything for so that he could follow his dreams. Tasha the "Momager" of the star QB lives her life through her son. Jason is the vet who struggles with knowing that he doesn't have much time left in the league. Derwin is the rookie, aka fresh meat who is just getting adjusted to the new lifestyle that he lives, and Malik the typical football cliche who has all the money & gets all the girls. There is someone for everyone to relate to on this show. Me personally, I feel like I connect more with Melanie. I am so eager for the next season! Save the date people 1.11.11 on BET! Game Day :-)

Head Over Heels

This new section of my blog is dedicated to my favorite heels. I am an out of control shoe addict! When I step out I could be wearing a curtain, but my shoes still have to be bad as hell. I hate basic plain shoes. I love shoes that are unique, styles that I've never seen before & the more bling the better. The higher the heel the better. These BaddBitches in the pictures above & below are not the newest in my collection, but they are favorite pair right now. I spotted them & I died & went to shoe heaven! LOL! Enjoy...

Nail Color Of The Moment

After a whole month I finally took my first RockStar creation off of my nails. I usually change my nails every two weeks, but I loved my nails so much I rocked them a little bit longer. I went back to using a little more color & I just recently purchased this sheer peach by Essie called "Shop Till I Drop." To bring the color to life I got two RockStar nails & added cheetah print. I'm in love again! Trust, there is more RockStar to come...

Passion Pain & Pleasure

Trey's brand new album took me on a journey of passion pain & pleasure, which is the title of his newest album. I felt it all listening to it for the first time. I was a little skeptical about buying the album with only knowing one of the songs & because he decided to drop it so quickly. Songs from his last album "Ready" are still poppin' on the radio & I personally felt like that album was impossible to top! Even though I still don't think it tops "Ready", "Passion Pain & Pleasure" is far from the flop I thought it would be. There are definitely some hits on there! Some of my favs are "Love Faces", "Alone", "Can't Be Friends", "Made To Be Together" & "Unusual." Trey is still on his baby making mission & I'm still loving it! LOL!

My Lessons Learned

I'm a little under the weather & as a result of that I was confined to my house the entire day, so I decided to put my newest project into action. Today was day one of beginning to write my first book. I had been dwelling on writing a book for a while now, but I wasn't sure if I was up for the challenge... I now am. I've decided to write a book based around my journey through relationships. I believe that I want to title it "Memoirs Of A Broken-Hearted Girl", but that's not set in stone yet. It's not going to be a tell all or a way to put anyone on blast, but an outlet for my truth & for people to grasp the fact that with every relationship, no matter how it may have ended, there is indeed a lesson. These will be my personal lessons & I hope that maybe one day I will actually get to share them with you all.

Rih Inked Again

The queen of classy ink has gone under the needle again, but this time in a not so classy spot. While in New York City Rihanna hit up the tattoo shop of her favorite tattoo artist BangBang & on the side of her neck got the phrase “rebelle fleur”, which means rebellious flower in french. I think that the phrase is unique, but I always thought of the neck as a place for a dude to get tatted. I think Rih is running out of appropriate spaces to get tattooed... What do you guys think of Rih's new ink?

By the way, check out Rihanna's new single "Only Girl" that premiered yesterday. It's a feel good club song with a techno vibe to it. I'm anxious to hear what her next album is going to sound like. Look out for it this upcoming November.

Kim K. At The 2010 Emmys

For those of you who read my blog frequently or know me personally know that I'm a little obsessive & I'm overly obsessed with this Fab chick as well as the rest of her fam. Kim Kardashian really can do no wrong when it comes to what she wears. This girl looks good in just about everything she chooses to put on her body. Reading Kim's blog, she took readers behind the scenes of her trying to find the perfect dress for the Emmys. Even though all of the dresses were stunning on her, I think this one was the perfect choice. What's funny is that when I think white gown, I immediately think wedding & this definitely was not her wedding day. LOL! But Kim pulled this dress of perfectly. It was so classy & the gold embroidered top gave the dress that extra spice it needed to take the dress from boring to elegant. You keep working em Kimmy!

Maxi Dresses For Midgets

Maxi dresses are one of my favorite things to wear. Their very fashionable, comfortable & they can easily be dressed up or down. But I have trouble finding any that I won't bust my head wide open from tripping over it. LOL! The maxi I'm wearing in the picture above is my favorite right now, but I have to hold it up when I'm walking to avoid any slips & falls. I need some maxi dresses made for 5 feet & under... Seriously! LOL!

Y O U

Attempting to detach myself from everything that is you, but that's close to impossible because every little thing reminds me of you. I close my eyes to try to get away from it all & I still see you. I go to sleep because it's the only break I get from thinking of you... & then I dream of you. The days continue to pass, but everyday I still love you. The only cure for this illness is to rip my heart out of my chest & give it to you... It only beats for you & I no longer want anything to do with Y O U...

Takers

Saturday I went to the movies to see the highly anticipated (at least by me) movie of the year "Takers". I recently got discouraged about the film because there was a lot of talk about how the film wasn't going to be all it was amped up to be & that the preview would be better than the actual movie. But they were wrong... The movie was everything I expected it to be & more! The actors were delicious, the story line was perfect & it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I just couldn't wait for the movie to end because I was so tired of being on edge & having my heart beating out of my chest. LOL! I'm not really an action flick girl, but I was so impressed with it that I wouldn't mind going to see it again! If you haven't already, please go see "Takers", it's a must see!
